OUR VISION

Scientists, and the specialised research organisations around the world like the United Nations, Lancet, and others  have been expressing urgent concern over the increased interference of humans’ food system with natural resilience of the planet earth. It is being forewarned that the global population will reach nearly 10 billion by 2050 and we humans are likely to put even more pressure on mother earth  to the level of crossing the tipping points which are likely to boomerang and put the very survival of the human race in question due to disturbed ecosystems. It is time for everyone now to turn the painstaking research into actionable knowledge and empower ourselves to reshape our food production system and reconnect to the earth’s biosphere system. The palm planet mission believes that the problem can be alleviated to a great extent through inclusion of different palm species in the respective compatible climate zones  into the food system. It is hoped that such palm based food systems will also help achieving food security to humans and animals, and biodiversity not only in normal times but also in critical times of multiple famines; and failure of supply chains, production systems, population shifts, pandemics, etc. The ultimate goal shall be attaining ‘vasudhaika kutumbam’ (live and let all  living beings live treating the entire universe as one family).
